วิทยากรชื่อดังท่านหนึ่งเริ่มต้นการสัมมนาด้วยการชูธนบัตร 20 ดอลลาร์ขึ้นมา มีผู้คนกว่า 200 คนมารวมตัวกันเพื่อฟังเขาพูด เขาถามว่า “ใครอยากได้ธนบัตร 20 ดอลลาร์ใบนี้บ้าง”

มีคนยกมือขึ้น 200 คน

เขากล่าวว่า “ฉันจะให้เงิน 20 เหรียญนี้แก่พวกคุณคนใดคนหนึ่ง แต่ก่อนอื่น ขอฉันทำสิ่งนี้ก่อน” เขาขยำธนบัตรนั้น

แล้วเขาก็ถามว่า “ใครยังต้องการมันอีก?”

มือทั้ง 200 ก็ยังยกอยู่

“แล้วถ้าฉันทำแบบนี้ล่ะ” เขาตอบ แล้วเขาก็ทิ้งธนบัตรลงบนพื้นและเหยียบมันด้วยรองเท้าของเขา

เขาหยิบมันขึ้นมาโชว์ให้ฝูงชนดู บิลยับเยินและสกปรกไปหมด

“แล้วใครยังต้องการมันอีกล่ะ?”

มือทุกคนยังยกขึ้น

A famous speaker started his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. Over 200 people had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?”

All 200 people raised their hands.

He said, “I’m going to give this $20 to one of you, but first, let me do this.” He crumpled the bill up.

Then he asked, “Who still wants it?”

All 200 hands were still raised.

“Well, what if I do this?” he replied. Then he dropped the bill on the ground and stepped on it with his shoe.

He picked it up and showed it to the crowd. The bill was crumpled and dirty.

“Now, who still wants it?”

Every hand was still raised.

“My friends, I have just shown you a very important lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, life crumbles us and grinds us into the dirt. We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances. We feel worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special – don’t ever forget it!
