🤍 Chapter 1 — A Promise
Mali was a small, soft white fabric doll that Mom bought for a little girl named “Khao Hom” on the day she turned just 3 years old.
That day, Khao Hom hugged Mali tightly, her small cheek pressed against the soft cotton.
“We will be friends forever.”
The promise was soft and quiet… but Mali remembered it clearly, always.
⏳ Chapter 2 — When Time Changes Everything
Year after year, Mali slowly changed. The white fabric grew dull, the stitching loosened, and the old cuteness… gradually faded away.
But one thing never changed — “Mali’s heart.”
Mali still sat beside the pillow every night, listening to Khao Hom talk about school, friends, and dreams.
Even when Khao Hom repeated the same stories, Mali never grew tired. Because for Mali, just being beside her was enough.
🧸 Chapter 3 — The Silence That Replaced It All
But one day, Khao Hom began to talk less. Her laughter grew quieter.
And finally… she stopped talking altogether.
Mali still sat in the same spot, but the silence… grew louder every day.
🏬 Chapter 4 — The Toy Store
Close to Khao Hom’s 8th birthday, Mom took her out to walk around a toy store.
The lights in the display cases sparkled. The new dolls looked clean… cute… perfect.
Khao Hom stood and stared for a long time, her eyes bright in the way Mali remembered… from years ago.
Mali was being held in Khao Hom’s arms, yet felt somehow “far away.”
“I… am probably no longer right for you…”
That night, Mali was set down beside the bed without a hug.
It was the first time Mali ever felt “cold.”
💔 Chapter 5 — The Pain Mali Accepted
Days later, Khao Hom often sat staring blankly into the distance, as if thinking of something far away.
Mali didn’t need to guess. It understood. “She is choosing someone… to replace me.”
A doll’s heart makes no sound when it breaks. But that feeling… hurt deeper than any words could say.
Even so, Mali accepted it. “If that is what makes her happy… then I accept it.”
